In the new science fiction “Survive!: Marooned on Planet Tau Ceti g” (published by iUniverse) by author Charles P. Graham, a xenobiologist and his six crew members struggle to survive on a hostile alien planet after their spacecraft is destroyed by an unanticipated meteor storm.

Graham’s novel takes place in the 23rd century – during a time when Earth’s scientists have unlocked the secret to faster-than-light travel. As a result of this discovery, mankind begins exploring the cosmos, but not without perilous risks.

While exploring a newly discovered planet, the starship Copernicus is heavily damaged by a meteor storm. Led by a young scientist named Chris Elliott, a small group of survivors must battle foreign elements and creatures they encounter on the unfamiliar planet. With dwindling resources and no likely chance of communicating with Earth, the group relies heavily on their innately human ingenuity and skills, hoping they will be found and rescued.

“A story of survival is powerful and basic,” Graham says of his book. “It can permit the reader to – safely – experience the trials and tribulations of survival in a most difficult situation. This story will capture the reader’s imagination and allow them to empathize and emotionally connect with the characters. The reader will then experience the emotional highs and lows vicariously through the character with which he or she identifies.”
