SIG is Coming to Chicago for Chief Procurement Officer Event and All-Day Thought Leadership Forum Focused on Talent
Chicago, Ill. (PRWEB) April 10, 2017 -- SIG, the premier membership organization for sourcing, procurement and outsourcing executives, today announces a one-day talent-focused SIGnature event to be held in Chicago, Illinois on April 19, 2017, followed by a 3-hour CPO networking event and breakfast meeting on April 20th.
The Chicago SIGnature event takes place on Wednesday, April 19 from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm and is focused on the issues related to talent management with topics ranging from workforce strategies to employee retention in a competitive environment. Specific sessions will be held on: Effective Workforce Strategies for the New World of Work; The Growth of the Midwest Labor Market: A Further Look into the Workforce; and Procurement’s Role in the Future of Talent Management – How to Hire, Engage and Retain Sourcing Talent with an Inter-Generational Workforce. SIG will be joined by thought leaders, Allegis Global Solutions and SIGMA and other buy-side executives to deliver best practices. In addition, delegates will participate in a facilitated peer-to-peer grand roundtable and smaller round-robin breakout discussions on driving efficiency in the procurement process, optimizing supply chain management and artificial intelligence and its impact on the new world of work. Attendees will wrap up the day with a networking reception.
Health Care Service Corporation is hosting this event, which provides education and local networking for professionals from Fortune 500 companies. A combination of practitioner presentations, facilitated roundtables and panel discussions, a SIGnature event enables delegates to converse in a collegial, non-commercial environment.
“SIGnature events give our members a chance to really connect and learn from their peers in a local community,” says John Powell, Director of Member Development. “We facilitate the day and get the dialogues started, but we are always thrilled when we hear that the conversations have continued months and even years later.”
The Chicago CPO Meet & Eat will take place the following day on Thursday, April 20, where an exclusive group of C-level executives will convene to discuss the CPO agenda and priorities for 2017, share a meal and hear from their peers. CPO Meet & Eat events include “day in the life” conversations by local CPOs, followed by roundtable discussions on hot topics.
“The CPO Meet & Eat program is really a hotbed of innovation,” said Stephani McGarry, Vice President, SIG Global Events. “The three hours go by quickly with ideas flying and issues being raised and discussed at in-depth levels. Although the half-day program is perfect for busy executives, the CPOs tend to walk away wishing they had more time with these other leaders in their communities.”
