When Chuck Johnson, author of “One Man’s Life and Thoughts: In Good Times and Bad -Volume 1” (published by Trafford Publishing), wrote his first poem, it was in response to a neighbor’s tremendous tragedy.
“My neighbor’s son had an accidental fall and was killed,” Johnson remembers. “I lied in bed that night and was thinking what I might say to them and suddenly a poem came to mind, and although I had never written one before, I got out of bed and wrote my thoughts in the poem, ‘He’s My Son Too.’ From this moment, I started to write almost daily and have written about 1600 poems.”
In “One Man’s Life and Thoughts,” Johnson tackles a wide range of human emotion, delving into such topics as death, renewal and gratitude.
“One Man’s Life and Thoughts” will be featured at the 2014 American Library Association (ALA) annual conference.
Held June 26 through July 1 in Las Vegas, the 2014 ALA conference covers key issues such as innovation and transformation, digital content, community engagement, leadership, the impact and potential of new technologies and a variety of other library-related concerns. There’s also a wide range of networking opportunities and fun events for visitors to enjoy.
