Claire’s Place Foundation Receives Second Grant from California Community Foundation to Assist Children With Cystic Fibrosis
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) January 07, 2014 -- 16-year-old Claire Wineland is proud to announce that her foundation, Claire’s Place Foundation, has been awarded a second grant from California Community Foundation (CCF), the leading organization for inspiring and empowering philanthropy by and for the Los Angeles community, to help children and families affected by cystic fibrosis.
CCF awarded Claire’s Place a grant of $10,000.00 to assist Claire in her mission to support others living with cystic fibrosis and that are dealing with extended hospital stays. CCF awarded the foundation a grant of $5,000 in early 2013. Through initiatives and opportunity funding, CCF both ensures the long-term impact of grants and responds to immediate community needs. In partnership with diverse stakeholders, CCF fosters positive change as it helps to build the future of Los Angeles. Donors Brittany Weinstein and family made this generous grant possible.
"It is one thing to believe in your own goals and dreams. It's something totally different and wonderful to know that others believe in them too and support you in making them a reality,” said Claire. “We are so grateful to the Weinstein family and CCF for their continued support."
Claire has dedicated her life work to making a difference in the lives of others living with cystic fibrosis. At age 16, she has lived her entire life battling the life threatening genetic disease, and has spent more than a quarter of her life in the hospital. A young founder of a charitable foundation and author of bestseller “Every Breath I Take,” co-authored with Chynna Bracha Levin, Claire continues to spread her message of how to live a fulfilling life while taking care of a condition that requires constant treatment and frequent hospitalization.
