UK Conference Centre Bucks Recession
High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire (PRWEB UK) 22 January 2014 -- Business levels at Lane End Conference Centre, Buckinghamshire are at their best ever, despite the ongoing recession.
The independently owned specialist conference venue - which hosts meetings and events for a broad range of national and international corporate businesses - reports that confirmed bookings are at their highest in seven years.
Lane End Sales and Marketing Manager, Heni Fourie, said: “We are very pleased to have successfully steered through, what appears to be, the worst of the downturn.
“Our purpose is to deliver the best professional meeting environment for clients, both in terms of our venue and customer care.
“To reduce the impact of the recession we have taken several steps to stay ahead.
“A key part of our strategy was, rather than cutting back, continuing to re-invest profits into the venue’s facilities to ensure we offer a world-class experience for delegates.”
Since the onset of the recession in 2007, Lane End’s multiple conference and training rooms have undergone significant redevelopment.
Changes to the centre’s five self-contained buildings include:
• Complete refurbishment of conference suites, dining rooms and lounge spaces
• Full renovation of 35 bedrooms - including updates to all existing en-suite bathrooms, newly built private balconies, new soft furnishings and luxurious double beds
• The addition of a large outdoor deck and conservatory catering for 60 covers
• Roll-out of fibre optic broadband enabling superfast, reliable connectivity and video conferencing across the 26-acre site.
Supporting Lane End’s programme of continual improvement, work has recently begun on a new two-storey leisure and sports centre.
Mr Fourie said: “Alongside physical improvements, we have also worked hard to drive up customer satisfaction to retain existing customers and attract new business.
“We have also paid – and continue to pay - careful attention to what clients say.
“Feedback is extremely valuable and when suggestions for improvements are made we implement them.”
BDRC Continental - the UK’s largest independent market research company – recently awarded Lane End the VenueVerdict Gold Standard Accreditation for the eighth consecutive quarter.
A recognised benchmark for the meeting and hospitality industry, BDRC Continental’s VenueVerdict survey is completed by event bookers and organisers.
Each venue is assessed across a number of operational criteria including, customer service, catering quality, standard of facilities and overall value for money.
Results for quarter four 2013 show that Lane End was one of only 31 venues in the UK – and the only conference venue in Buckinghamshire - to receive the VenueVerdict Gold Standard Accreditation.
Current reviews on the TripAdvisor website show 82 per cent of visitors rate Lane End as ‘very good’ or higher.
Mike Gough, Lane End’s Operations Director, said: “The length and severity of the downturn has meant tough times for businesses world-wide.
“I am delighted with our progress and how our team has adapted and responded to the challenges.
“As well as adopting a culture of continual improvement, it is the committed, friendly ‘can-do’ attitude of our staff that underpins our success.
“Their contribution and willingness to always go that extra mile is what keeps clients booking time and again.”
