Constellation Payments Announces Integrated EMV Terminal Solution to Help Merchants Transition, Avoid Liability for Credit Card Fraud
Hatboro, Pennsylvania (PRWEB) September 15, 2015 -- Constellation Payments, a leading gateway and merchant services provider for software companies, franchisors, direct sales organizations, and large merchants, announced today the launch of its integrated EMV terminal initiative designed to simplify the transition to new EMV payment terminals for software users and merchants.
Named after its original developers — Europay, MasterCard and VISA — EMV is a global standard for the cards equipped with chips and the technology used to authenticate transactions and reduce fraud.
Starting October 1st, U.S. merchants that haven’t upgraded to new EMV-compatible terminals will be liable for paying any fraudulent charges that happen when a chip card is used for in-store transactions.
To make the migration to EMV terminals as easy as possible, Constellation Payments has developed a simple, custom solution for managing terminal integration. The solution includes an interface that Constellation Payments has built into a set of feature-rich, EMV-compatible terminals provided by one of the world’s leading suppliers of terminals, Ingenico.
“Our partnership with Ingenico ensures that our clients receive terminals that provide rigorous payment security, as well as industry-leading performance, flexibility and functionality,” said Steven Pinado, CEO for Constellation Payments. “All terminals support EMV transactions, as well as contactless payments — some even include interactive touchscreens that engage customers through the payment process with ads for up-selling and building loyalty.”
Part of the Constellation Payments’ integration solution includes a simple software development kit (SDK) created by the company. The kit is designed to make integrating the terminals with any software platform quick and smooth. Software companies partnering with Constellation Payments will benefit from the simplified specs, as well as hands-on guidance provided by Constellation Payments throughout integration.
