Constellation Payments Achieves Elavon and Vantiv Terminal Certification, Compliance with EMV Specifications

Through the certification, merchants using point of sale software that is integrated with Constellations Payments’ proprietary payment processing platform can now seamlessly, and securely, accept EMV chip cards through a software-integrated payment terminal. Each terminal is enhanced to directly interface with the merchant’s software application.
EMV is a global standard for the cards equipped with chips and the technology used to authenticate transactions and reduce fraud.
Before an EMV-compatible terminal solution can be deployed, it must go through rigorous testing, evaluation and approval as defined by EMVCo — a consortium of payment card associations that manage, maintain and enhance the EMV Integrated Circuit Card Specifications for chip-based payment cards and acceptance devices.
Complete EMV certification includes certification of the hardware, software and processor.

With direct oversight of its own proprietary payment gateway, Constellation Payments is uniquely positioned to continue certification with processors at a rapid pace. In the coming months, the company plans to achieve certification with Canada, including Interac. Additional countries are currently in progress and on track for delivery before the end of the year.
