Continuum Education and Gooru Form Partnership to Offer Collaboration in Personalized Learning
Santa Cruz, CA (PRWEB) February 11, 2015 -- Continuum Education and Gooru today announced a partnership to provide tools to educators to personalize learning through communication and collaboration and a personalized learning solution for educators to find, remix and share collections of web resources.
Apropos, Continuum Education’s first product, turns the Internet into a collaborative learning environment by facilitating educator and learner discovery, acquisition, curation and critique of academic and online content with standards-aligned instructional prompts. Gooru organizes all online learning content and connects a community of educators and learners to meet students’ unique needs with a personalized learning solution. The pilot partnership will utilize both Apropos and Gooru together as a comprehensive solution.
Jill Abbott, Continuum Education CEO, states, “Gooru focuses on the learner first, which aligns with the philosophy at Continuum Education. Gooru has done tremendous work with providing a personalized learning solution using open education resources. Apropos will offer a perfect fit for adding additional value through collaboration and problem solving to Gooru.”
The pilot collaboration will focus on three areas:
1. Search Engine: Apropos will utilize Gooru as an option for leaners to use when finding responses and content to educator’s problems and questions.
2. Collaboration and Integration: Gooru will employ Apropos as a tool to collaborate within the Gooru personalized learning solution.
3. Reporting and Data: Apropos will provide additional secure data and events within a Gooru search for Gooru and Apropos to consume for richer reporting for the educator and the learner.
“Gooru looks forward to the pilot collaboration with Continuum Education. Apropos offers educators and learners a tremendous opportunity for real-time learning and collaboration and in combining these two education technology tools, provides opportunities for personalized learning to work for educators and learners in and out of the classroom,” explained Dr. Prasad Ram, CEO Gooru.
Over the next six months, all of the work from the pilot collaboration will be described and results reported out to the education community.
