CourtRecords.us.org is expanding the information included in their reports to include marriage and divorce records, the company said yesterday.
“What we have learned from listening to our customers is that marriage and divorce records are something they are looking for,” a CourtRecords.us.org spokesman said. “That surprised us a bit. We thought that people would only focus on criminal records. But divorce and marriage records are in the public domain, so if people are interested in them we are happy to provide them.”
CourtRecords.us.org said that people who use the site to screen people during the online dating process are the ones who are most interested in the new records.
“For women, they want to make sure that the guy they are talking to isn't still married,” he said. “For men, they want to make sure she hasn't been divorced multiple times. Obviously that's a generalization, but it's indicative of what we've heard in feedback from our customers over time.”
The database has already been updated with the new information, he said.
“We had to redesign our reports a bit, but that process is now complete,” he said. “We hope that the new information is useful and helps people avoid unpleasant situations.”
CourtRecords.us.org is continuing to survey customers about what they want in their reports, he said.
“We may be adding additional information to the reports in the near future if it turns out that it is what people want,” he said.
