Credico South Africa Open Up About Overcoming Tough Times in Business
(PRWEB) September 08, 2017 -- Throughout August Credico South Africa has been inspiring its workforce by discussing inspiring stories of courage and offering real life advice on overcoming tough situations. However, unlike most rags to riches stories in the media, the people at the centre of these tales were not celebrities or famous business icons, but people within Credico South Africa. ‘People need to connect with a story on a personal level to take action, and these stories, although personal and potentially difficult to talk about are powerful because the audience knows the person at the heart of it. They can picture the struggles and see the extent to which their lives have transformed,’ outlines Credico South Africa.

One piece of monthly inspiration came from the organisation's general manager and revealed how he changed his life after being left jobless when a previous employer was sent into liquidation.
The story started with the manager finding success in his first job after university, where he was excelling in the fast paced business world and successfully hitting targets. However, despite his progress, behind closed doors, the company was in trouble and ultimately went into liquidation. Rather than dwell on his new unemployed status, the general manager got to work looking for a solution and drawing up a business plan to allow him to continue serving the consumers he connected with through his previous role.
Despite facing some financial setbacks and tough times, the Credico South Africa manager credits the experience to being able to reach the level of success he is as today. ‘I can reflect on that time in my life and be proud of how much I learnt and grew as an individual out of the difficulties. How quickly inexperience transformed into lessons.’
Credico South Africa believe that the story describes the importance of planning for the unexpected and approaching tough times calmly. All too often people fail to plan for tough times when things are going well, leaving them ill prepared for when things do go wrong. When faced with challenging times especially in business, it can be difficult to rationalise or think clearly. This is when mistakes are made and is the most common cause of business failures. By taking time to ask, ‘what if’ and sit down and plan for the future, professionals will find greater success in all areas of their lives.
‘There is a famous quote by Robert H. Schuller: “Tough times never last, but tough people Do”, and we live by this quote every day at Credico South Africa. We are always working on ways to inspire the young professionals in our business to be bolder and more confident and are committed to giving them the tools to thrive in the industry.’
