CrimeReportOnline.com Preparing Crime Prevention Guide for New Students
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) June 20, 2014 -- CrimeReportOnline.com is set to launch a guide that will help students learn crime prevention tips to help keep them safe when they go off to college, the company said yesterday.
“This is the time of year when students are graduating from high school and getting ready to go away to college for the first time,” a CrimeReportOnline.com spokesman said. “That creates a special set of challenges. Young adults who are used to the safety of their home need to learn a new set of skills to keep them safe once they move out. We want to help provide them with those essential life skills.”
One of the biggest challenges students face, he said, is moving from rural or suburban homes to cites where the college dorms are located, he said.
“They may be much more naïve and trusting than people who grew up in urban environments,” he said. “This is why it is very important to help them learn what to be aware of, and what not to do if they want to lower their chances of assault or robbery.”
The guide will take the form of a series of articles, he said. It will be available on the site, sent out through social media, and posted on the company blog.
“We want as many students as possible to have access to these basic safety tips,” he said. “There are too many people out there looking to take advantage of them.”
