Auburn Hills, MI (PRWEB) May 01, 2014
As the American Red Cross likes to say about giving blood, ‘the need is constant, and the gratification is instant;’ that’s why the Crowne Plaza Auburn Hills hotel partnered with the American Red Cross to help save lives by hosting a blood drive on Monday, April 28th.
The demand for blood donations in the Auburn Hills, Michigan area is very constant and donations are needed in order to offset this shortage. Over five million patients all over the country will at some point need blood this year. And each weekday, the Southeastern Michigan Blood Services Region needs to have at least 900 blood donors to help meet the need of patients in the hospitals they serve.
“I am excited to have the opportunity to help save peoples’ lives with this blood drive,” said Christine Ruedisueli, Director of Catering at the Crowne Plaza Auburn Hills, and the event coordinator for their blood drive. “After learning that just one pint of blood can save three lives, I knew that this event and partnership with the American Red Cross could make a huge difference in our community.”
To encourage blood donations, the Crowne Plaza Auburn Hills gave donors the opportunity to win some great prizes. Every donor was entered into a drawing for a $150.00 Kroger Gift Card and a one night stay at the Crowne Plaza Auburn Hills. In addition, all donors also received a 25% off food voucher at O’Malley’s Tavern Auburn Hills.
The Crowne Plaza was proud to announce that Troy, Michigan native, Cindy Kanczuzewski, was the winner of the free one-night stay at the hotel! Cindy is a passionate and avid blood donor! In fact, her donation on April 28th completed her 17th gallon of donated blood over her lifetime.
