Cultural Vistas Establishes First International Office in Berlin
New York, NY (PRWEB) July 10, 2013 -- Cultural Vistas, a non-profit organization with 60-plus years of experience facilitating professional exchange programs, is pleased to announce it is expanding its European presence with the opening of Cultural Vistas Europe, its first international office based in the German capital of Berlin.
"We are excited to expand our presence and mission to Europe," said Robert Fenstermacher, Cultural Vistas President & CEO. "The establishment of our new office is another terrific milestone for Cultural Vistas. It demonstrates our commitment to supporting and enhancing the services we provide through our long-standing exchanges with Europe, and will build upon our rich history of transatlantic programming that extends back to 1950."
Cultural Vistas Europe has been established as a German non-profit organization (gGmbH). This expansion will enable Cultural Vistas to strengthen cooperation with existing European partners, foster new university partnerships and exchanges with institutions throughout the European Union, and facilitate greater outreach to and engagement with its extensive European alumni base.
Cultural Vistas Europe will provide direct support to a range of existing programs for Americans interning and studying overseas, as well as exchanges bringing students and professionals to the United States. Looking forward, Cultural Vistas Europe will create pathways for the organization to continue to diversify its portfolio of international programs, including the development of new trilateral initiatives.
"We intend to utilize our European hub to build stronger ties and pursue opportunities with the development of innovative trilateral exchanges between the United States, Europe and other regions, such as East Asia and Latin America," said Fenstermacher.
The opening of Cultural Vistas Europe comes after two-and-a-half years of continued growth following the January 2011 nonprofit merger between the Association for International Practical Training and CDS International that gave way to the formation of Cultural Vistas. Over that time, nearly 10,000 students and professionals from more than 120 countries around the world have participated in Cultural Vistas exchange programs.
Cultural Vistas' operations now span four locations, with Berlin joining its headquarters in New York City and regional offices in Columbia, Maryland and Washington, D.C.
