Many adult children are graduating into a world of a different normal.

Cleveland, OH (PRWEB) July 05, 2013

In her new book, “To Reach a Reason: Finding Spiritual Fulfillment as a Caregiver” (published by CrossBooks), D. Rogers tackles the subject of being a caregiver for a loved one, offering advice and guidance to help people through the experience, which can be full of uncertain challenges and choices.

Rogers says, “Many adult children are graduating into a world of a different normal.” This became a true, spiritual journey for her during the course of 10 years. She and several caregivers in her family unyieldingly took on the task of giving care to their mom, who had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. The challenging times evolved into a spiritual journey which bore the fruits of both abundant and unexpected blessings.

An excerpt from “To Reach a Reason”:

“In our spirit, we must strive to find strength in prayer from God. One night, after coming home from caring for my mom, I began to pray in spite of my complete exhaustion. God directed me through the power of the Holy Spirit to several of the most passionate passages of scripture, which allowed me to understand just how close God wanted me to be to him.”

Ultimately, Rogers hopes “To Reach a Reason” gives caregivers an opportunity to reflect on their approach to the challenges of being a caregiver from a spiritual perspective.
