Debbie Giese Speaks to Women of God’s Power in New Novel
Waukesha, Wis. (PRWEB) August 24, 2013 -- Author Debbie Giese never felt she was worthy of a relationship with God and Jesus Christ. Through reflection and self-discovery, Giese was able to overcome her adversities and embrace God’s love. In her new novel, “He Knows Your Name: A Hope Speaks Novel” (published by CrossBooks), Giese emulates this journey through her two characters who must learn to accept themselves, each other and God.
“I didn’t grow up ‘churchy,’” writes Giese, “and I felt I wasn’t good enough for a relationship with Christ. I thought I’d disqualified myself from a relationship with Him. I want the reader to realize that they are never beyond His reach.”
Cass Parker never believed she would be alone and pregnant at 35. Abandoned by her father many years ago, Cass still harbors the pain and self-loathing she carried throughout her life. When the police deliver her father’s backpack to her doorstep, Cass’ entire life and foundation is shaken.
Caroline McKay feels nothing but hate and vengeance for Cass. With an abusive past, Caroline is on a downward spiral, and she intends to take Cass with her. As the two women find they have much more in common than they thought, they are able to learn to forgive each other, their pasts and themselves through a new understanding of God.
Giese’s book speaks to readers who have lost and found God in their lives as well as those who have felt his healing powers. She writes, “We often feel that being a Christian is more about joining a club or social institution, and we miss the point that Jesus came to save us and heal us from all that has broken us.”
