Author Deborah A. Wallace Shares ‘The Flight of Our Butterfly’
ROSWELL, Ga. (PRWEB) June 16, 2016 -- Writing has been Deborah A. Wallace’s therapy at the time when she was grieving the untimely loss of her daughter. A compilation of small notes she has shared with friends every so often was then collated into her debut publication featuring a poignant celebration of a life well lived in “The Flight of Our Butterfly” (published by Trafford Publishing). This chronicling inspires the reading audience on how one looks back on life and what lessons every person gets from the experiences shared.
Set at various times during a 33-year span, “The Flight of Our Butterfly” presents a mother’s celebration of her daughter’s faithful life sojourn through real experiences and excerpts taken from a personal journal that gives candid and raw enlightenment as to how a parent deals with the loss of a child. The brave and bright heroine of this tale is the daughter Bianca, who passed away at 28 years of age to lupus, as told by her mother, the author Wallace. This retelling is a mother’s way of finding a purpose in life after a tragic death.
“It gives awareness to how one lives with lupus, how to tackle raising a confident, intelligent, young lady in today’s society, and how a parent copes with losing their child, sharing lessons of life whenever possible,” Wallace on her book’s highlight. “I hope it gives an honest understanding about unconditional love, letting other parents who lost a child know that they are not alone in how they grieve—and hopefully offering a different approach on how to raise a child who suffers from an illness while bringing awareness to an incurable disease like lupus. With any luck, it gathers support in finding a cure for lupus and other diseases that affect our community.”
A snippet from “The Flight of Our Butterfly”:
"You will find in most of my writings, small notations with dates from my 'Baby Bianca’s' journal. Few are long soliloquies where I go on and on about being enamored with this little person I see growing in front of me. Most passages are of her as a baby girl, dainty, and sweet describing just how I saw it at the time…. Some entries are sappy in that my child is the most beautiful thing ever made, most have shades of fear attached to them. However, there are many short blurbs about those days that make the Mommi job crazy, utterly tiring and more often extremely confusing…."
