Denver dentist Dr. Charles Barotz has always believed in giving back to the community. After seeing a recent report that one out of six Americans is going hungry, Dr. Barotz decided to step up the effort to help.
He has just finished his new book "The Power of a Beautiful Smile" and thus decided to use the launch of his new book to also raise funds for the local food bank.
The book launch event held on June 26th was a huge success. The book shot up to top position on Barnes and Noble's book chart and became a number one bestseller.
Dr. Barotz will be donating all the proceeds of the book to "Food Bank of the Rockies."
"What a win-win! I have always wanted to share with the public how easy it is to maintain good dental health. That is why I published this book." said Dr Barotz. "Now the public can read how they could achieve great dental health and at the same time, we can help the local food pantry."
Dr. Barotz's book also talks about the most advanced dental technologies that are in existence today and how a patient can drastically improve his or her dental health and also the cosmetics of a smile with sometimes just one visit. There is even a technology for relieving headaches.
"Most people do not realize that poor dental health will affect overall health. After all, the mouth is the gateway to the rest of the body -- bacteria can travel through the mouth into the blood stream." Dr Barotz explained. "Poor dental health will also affect the confidence level of a person. A person with good-looking healthy teeth is likely to feel more comfortable talking to people, smiling, and even being intimate with a loved one."
“I wanted to do my part to ensure that Americans stay healthy and I also wanted to help those in need by supporting our local food pantry." Dr. Barotz added, "Giving back to the community who has helped me to be here as a practicing dentist all these years is the best thing for me to do."
