Nick Lovgren P.E. Electrical Engineer Joins Dersch Design & Engineering
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (PRWEB) September 14, 2017 -- Dersch Design & Engineering (DDE) is pleased to announce Nick Lovgren, P.E., LEED AP BD+C, has joined the firm as an electrical engineer. The San Diego-based engineering firm specializes in electrical engineering, building construction / renovation, renewable energy and microgrids. Lovgren is a licensed professional engineer in both California and British Columbia.
In his new position, Lovgren designs electrical systems for commercial customers, government agencies and utilities. His strength lies in building systems design, particularly for laboratories, cleanrooms and hazardous classified environments. Lovgren takes a meticulous, detail-oriented approach to all projects, and he offers thoughtful insight to owners, architects and contractors alike.
Prior to joining Dersch Design in April 2017 as an electrical engineer, Lovgren held the position of electrical engineer at CRB Consulting Engineers in Carlsbad, California. He worked on an interdisciplinary team with architects, mechanical engineers, plumbing designers and process engineers on a wide array of new construction and tenant improvement projects. In addition to serving as the Electrical Engineer of Record (EOR), Lovgren also served as LEED administrator when projects sought LEED certification. He co-led CRB’s Sustainable Design Expert Team and was a major contributor to CRB’s Revit library. He is very familiar with Title 24 and adept at AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam and SKM.
Lovgren attended California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo where he received both his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Electrical Engineering with a dual emphasis in power systems and power electronics. Lovgren was active in numerous extracurricular clubs on campus, most of which focused on energy and the environment. He also worked for Cal Poly’s facilities department, where he performed energy audits and made energy efficiency recommendations to faculty, staff and students.
“At Dersch Design we search for team members who are passionate about their work. Nick is truly committed to sustainability through energy efficiency and renewable energy. Nick educated groups at Cal Poly to help reduce electric, water, and gas usage through retrofits, auditing and social outreach. His knowledge, drive and enthusiasm parallel our goals for continued growth,” said Dersch Design & Engineering President and CEO, Brian Dersch. “We’re pleased to bring Nick’s expertise in building design and construction to the Dersch Design team. He will help us grow our building system designs, particularly for government and utility projects.
