Car accident victims can regain some of that loss through a diminished value insurance claim.

Diminished Value of Georgia, Atlanta’s leading car appraisal company, has released its first quarter list of the top vehicles appraised for loss in value in 2015. The list is used by industry professionals to gauge which car owners have the most accidents. It is also used for other industry-related statistics.

Diminished value is the reduction in resale value a vehicle suffers after being repaired from an accident or collision. Car buyers will not pay the same amount for a wrecked and repaired vehicle as they would for an undamaged version of the same model. In total, Diminished Value of Georgia recovered $3.2 million for its clients in the first quarter of 2015.

Diminished Value of Georgia appraised 1,433 vehicles in the first quarter of 2015 for loss-in-value insurance claims. The top five vehicles appraised for diminished value were:

1.    Toyota Camry (4.2%) ✔
2.    Honda Accord (3.9%)
3.    Nissan Altima (3.7%)
4.    Toyota Corolla (3.2%)
5.    BMW 3-Series (3.1%)

When a car has been damaged by an accident, its owner is entitled to reimbursement for the loss in value the vehicle incurs.

This loss—or diminished value—is often underestimated by insurance companies that use a faulty percentage-based formula which yields values that are much lower than the actual loss amounts.

It is critical that automobile owners who have suffered an accident order an accurate and credible auto appraisal report to serve as proof-of-loss to insurance companies, so that they may collect what they are rightfully owed. It’s a well-known fact that consumers will pay more for an undamaged vehicle compared to one that has been in an accident and subsequently repaired.

"Car accident victims can regain some of that loss through a diminished value insurance claim" says Tony Rached, the managing principal of Diminished Value of Georgia, "our job is to help people get fairly compensated and ultimately to settle for more", he adds.

Diminished Value of Georgia is a licensed, BBB-accredited company specializing in diminished value assessments. Before ordering an appraisal, customers are encouraged to request a diminished value quote.
