With my seminars, I hope to clarify the discrepancies between what info Zillow receives and why an agent has the most accurate information.

Dina James, Weld County’s RE/MAX Traditions agent, recently partnered with lender Cindy Vaughan to host a consultation-style seminar for those interested in buying or selling property in today’s market. However, for those who missed the initial event, Dina will be conducting her next seminar on September 28 at the RE/MAX Traditions office, located at 2204 18th Avenue in Longmont (corner of Hover and 17th).

Dina’s goal is to help educate people about the process of buying and selling, and empower them by treating the seminars as more of a personal consultation than a lecture. “Cindy and I want to reach out and help people to understand the value of their homes and what they can afford to buy in a personal way that we hope makes them feel more confident in their ability to navigate the process with a real estate agent/lender team,” said Dina.

Additionally, Dina feels her seminars are needed because when she represents both buyers and sellers, they frequently refer to Zillow or Trulia and ask to see a property that is represented as being available, when in fact, the property has already sold.

“The MLS (Multiple Listing Service) and Zillow do not communicate info in a timely manner and people get frustrated that the properties they’re seeing online have been sold or are under contract and have been for several weeks,” said Dina. “With my seminars, I hope to clarify the discrepancies between what info Zillow receives and why an agent has the most accurate information.”

Dina, who has a thorough understanding of the local market, has lived in Colorado since she was three and currently participates in the Mead Chamber of Commerce. Recently, Dina stated more and more people are expressing that they want to buy or sell but are wary because of the negative news in the media about the housing market.
“In fact, now is a great time to get into the market, especially in Colorado,” said Dina. “These are the kinds of myths that I dispel at my seminars.”
