World-Class Orthopedic Surgeon to Serve as Chairman of Upcoming Surgical Conference
Scottsdale, AZ (PRWEB) January 22, 2015 -- Orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Tony Rhorer, is the scheduled chairman of an upcoming course that will explore the Surgical Approaches for Internal Fixation (SAIF) method, which is the surgical implementation of implants for the purpose of repairing a bone, such as bone screws and metal plates, pins and rods. Rhorer was invited to the conference because he employs the most revolutionary techniques in orthopedic surgery and internal medicine.
“Using implants to guide the healing process of a bone, as well as the setting of the bone itself is a very delicate and intricate process,” said the conference’s spokesperson. “To have Dr. Rhorer, one of the world’s best orthopedic surgeons, as a part of the conference will bring it to a new level of expertise.”
Rhorer is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic trauma surgeon with a special interest in post-traumatic reconstruction, limb lengthening and deformity correction.
“I have sought the most elite medical and surgical training possible, and I continue to educate myself on the most current and innovative methods available,” said Rhorer. “I have had thousands of hours in the fast-paced world of trauma surgery, which allows me to provide my patients with world-class service and exceptional results.”
During his time as a trauma surgeon, Rhorer spoke internationally on many aspects of orthopedic surgery. He has also written book chapters, scientific articles and commentaries in the field of orthopedic trauma.
The course that Rhorer will be a part of is a hands-on class that utilizes individualized learning experiences and cadaver labs to demonstrate anatomy and safety zones during tissue dissections. Course participants will apply hardware to cadaver bones as they would in performing an open reduction and internal fixation of a real fracture.
The course is offered by Smith and Nephew and is designed for fourth- and fifth-year residents. It takes place at the Innovation Centre in Memphis, Tennessee, on February 28-29, 2015.
