Wilmington, DE (PRWEB) October 17, 2014 -- For the seventh consecutive year, DuPont was ranked among top employers, as published in today’s print issue of Science magazine.
The Science and Science Careers’ annual Top Employers Survey polled employees in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and related industries to determine the 20 best employers. Rankings were determined based on responses from 5,394 employees, who were asked to rate their companies on 23 characteristics, including financial strength, leadership and direction, work culture/environment and research environment.
“Our community of scientists and engineers is critical to the future success and growth of DuPont. We work hard to create a work environment that enables innovation and creation of science-based solutions,” said Senior Vice President and Chief Science & Technology Officer Douglas Muzyka. “We are especially honored to be ranked as a top employer in this annual survey because it reflects the views of our employees and their peers around the world.”
DuPont employs more than 10,000 scientists and engineers. They represent more than 32 core technologies across four scientific disciplines: biology, chemistry, engineering and materials science. This broad diversity of talent and multi-disciplinary thinking, in partnership with collaborators across the world, has resulted in scientific innovations such as DuPont™ Teflon® nonstick coatings, Kevlar® fibers, Tyvek® house wrap and medical packaging, Nomex® thermal protection, Corian® surfaces, Optimum® AcreMax® Insect Protection Products, Sorona® renewably sourced fiber and Rynaxypyr® insect control.
The report is based on responses from survey participants in North America (70 percent), Europe (23 percent), and Asia/Pacific Rim (6 percent).
