Sounders FC Partner with ESPN Deportes Seattle Radio Group for Spanish Language Live Play-by-Play Broadcasts of 2014 Season
Seattle, WA (PRWEB) February 12, 2014 -- ESPN Deportes Seattle Radio Group, with stations in Seattle, Tacoma, and Olympia, will broadcast live play-by-play coverage of all Sounders FC matches during the 2014 regular season and playoff games, including a 30-minute pregame show and 30-minute post-game analysis in Spanish. The Sounders FC 2014 regular season runs March 8th through October 25th and includes 17 home matches at CenturyLink Field.
Following a season that boasted repeat record attendance for Major League Soccer (MLS), the Sounders FC bet on the growing local Latino population to expand the team’s fan base through ESPN Deportes Seattle’s listeners.
According to the 2010 U.S. Census, Seattle’s Latino population grew 81% in a ten-year period. On average, the Latino population is younger, households are larger and the percentage of Latino MLS fans, 18 years and older, is more than double that of non-Latino fans of any other professional sports league, according to the MLS.

Noe Menendez and Rene Aleman will provide the play-by-play. Together, they have over 25 years of combined broadcast experience and in-depth knowledge of soccer. The duo will be joined by local sports radio co-host's Diego Arrioja and Paco Diaz of "Latinfut Radio Show."
