Ecomo Launches on Kickstarter: Meet the World's First Twist-to-filter Smart Bottle that Analyzes and Displays What's Inside the Water
Mountain View, California (PRWEB) October 05, 2016 -- Ecomo Inc., a technology startup, is digitizing healthy living by using sensors, mobile internet, and big data. The company currently holds four patents (two utility patents and two design patents) for its first IoT product, the Ecomo Bottle. This is the first launch in its product line that is focused on helping people live a healthier life and is currently running a campaign on Kickstarter.
Recent research from Harvard University (2016) found that “Unsafe levels of toxic chemicals has been found in drinking water for 6 million Americans across 33 states.” With Ecomo Bottle, users can easily test their own water safety levels: a shake of the bottle analyzes Total Organic Carbon (TOC), Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Turbidity and Water Temperature in 3 seconds. The water quality can be viewed on either the water bottle’s LED screen or the Ecomo app.
Water pitchers that are currently available only contain activated carbon filters, which do not filter out bacteria or heavy metals. Ecomo CEO, Eric Li, holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and has been studying environmental technologies for over 10 years. He explains: “Inside the Ecomo Bottle, we designed a 3-in-1 filtration system to ensure the water we are drinking at home, at work, at the gym or even while camping is safe, healthy and clean.”
The Ecomo Bottle’s 3-in-1 filtration system contains activated carbon fiber, ion exchange fiber, and nano-fiber membrane. It can reduce most major contaminants such as pesticides, petroleum products, bacteria, and most heavy metals with a twist of the base. It also reminds users when the filter needs to be replaced.
Proper hydration is a very important part of optimal health. With Ecomo Bottle, individuals can customize their daily hydration goals, check their hydration history, sync and receive automated hydration alerts via the Ecomo mobile app and Ecomo Tracker. The Ecomo Tracker is a wearable part of the smart bottle that records and delivers real-time personal activity data to the bottle, which helps individuals stay hydrated with perfectly clean, safe, and refreshing water.
The Ecomo Bottle can be pre-ordered on Kickstarter starting at $129. To learn more or pre-order, please visit bit.ly/EcomoKS.
