The National Accreditation Commission awarded Educational First Steps assisted center Humpty Dumpty Day School with national accreditation on August 12, 2013. Humpty Dumpty joined the EFS program in 2010, achieving accreditation in 38 months through the EFS Four Steps to Excellence Program. Humpty Dumpty is the first Tarrant County EFS-assisted center to achieve this gold star standard of quality, and one of the first accredited centers in Tarrant County that serves low income children.
Sharyn Wilding, Owner and Director of Humpty Dumpty Day School stated, "Educational First Steps has been phenomenal in helping us work toward accreditation; the process was invigorating and worthwhile. I recommend EFS and [I recommend that] every school take part in becoming...accredited...it adds so much value to the parents and the children.”
The EFS Tarrant County services began as a pilot program under the leadership of Tarrant County Director Kym Shaw and Early Learning Specialist/Trainer Valeria Price. In 2012-2013, EFS served 305 children in Tarrant County through the Four Steps to Excellence 2.0 program. EFS recently added new staff members to Tarrant County to assist with program implementation and development efforts. The program has increased to 9 centers which represent 33 classrooms in Tarrant County.
