iC0nstruX.com Launches as the Web's Newest Destination for Electronic Hackers, Makers, and Hobbyists
Austin, Texas (PRWEB) January 14, 2014 -- In 2003 computer scientist and author, Andre' LaMothe designed and delivered the world's first "Do-It-Yourself" game console called the "XGameStation Micro Edition" -- firing up the imagination of thousands of customers to the possibility of understanding how to design their own game systems.
As the first product of its kind, a whole site was dedicated to support and sell the product at http://www.xgamestation.com/. Over the years, the XGameStation Micro was followed up with numerous other educational and edutainment based embedded gaming systems used by individuals as well as many college level embedded systems courses.
In 2013, the creators of the XGameStation brand were frustrated with the retail websites available online for embedded systems and electronics enthusiasts. Andre' LaMothe, CEO and Founder of iC0nstrux.com had this to say:
"There are a lot of good sites on internet for electronics, robotics, retro gaming, and related subjects, but there's not a single site that has everything under one roof. If you want parts you go here, if you want robots you go there, if you want retro minded hardware you have to jump to yet another URL. Alas, we wrote down what our dream website would be for hackers, nerds, electronics, robotics, gaming, and retro hardware development -- and then proceeded to develop it."
The result after a year of labor is the new site - iC0nstruX. Just launched, the first thing you will notice is the rich color and fun design. The site, definitely doesn't look like a blog or a copy and paste eCom site. There was a lot of time spent developing the look and feel of the site as well as the various customer and social aspects to the site such as blogs, forums, tutorials, videos, and much more. Additionally, the site is targeted to real hackers and makers -- people that build stuff, so there are a lot of embedded systems, gizmos and gadgets, but there are complete kits, toys, and beginner products as well.
"As technology hackers and evangelists, we all seem to have interests that traverse a wide range of subjects and technologies, so when we designed the site, we wanted to make sure that we covered as many product and technology areas as possible."
One of the most unique things about iC0nstruX.com is all about the community and helping Indie hardware developers by leveraging their vast experience in product development and manufacturing. So, iC0nstruX.com has programs for Indie developers where they can get help, consulting, and complete manufacturing support for new products that individuals and companies want to try and develop -- iC0nstruX's Indie Hardware Developer Support Program.
In the months to come, iC0nstruX.com will be adding hundreds of new products, new categories, and product videos and reviews. You can visit the site at http://www.iC0nstruX.com and if you have any technical questions, you can contact them at support(at)iC0nstruX(dot)com or (512) 266-2399.
