Eminent Domain Lawyer Stephanie H. Autry Appointed to the Prestigious Brigham-Kanner Property Rights Conference Advisory Board
(PRWEB) September 05, 2014 -- The Eminent Domain and Condemnation Law Group of Cranfill Sumner & Hartzog, LLP is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephanie H. Autry to the prestigious Brigham-Kanner Property Rights Conference Advisory Board. The Advisory Board, which is part of the Property Rights Project at William and Mary Law School, oversees an annual conference that promotes and furthers the constitutional importance of property rights for individuals and businesses. The conference brings together property law specialists from academia, the judiciary and private practice to discuss and exchange ideas relative to property rights, including any limitations or potential threats to the full exercise of constitutional property rights. At its annual conference, the Brigham-Kanner Property Rights Conference Advisory Board honors an individual who has advanced the cause of property rights as a fundamental civil liberty. Past recipients of the Brigham-Kanner Property Rights Prize include former Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor.
“Being appointed to the Brigham-Kanner Property Rights Conference Advisory Board is a tremendous honor,” states Ms. Autry, “but with that honor comes a great responsibility. When our founding fathers outlined the rights that make liberty and freedom possible, the concept of property ownership was one of the most important and fundamental rights. In my practice and in talking to other eminent domain lawyers, it is clear that individual property rights are often infringed for questionable ‘public purposes’ and governmental ease. As a litigator, I am able to advocate for my clients when their property rights are being infringed upon. As a member of this Advisory Board, I will be able to bring my experience and my voice to the discussion surrounding protection of individual property rights as a key component of our civil liberties. I look forward to learning from and trading ideas with educators, attorneys, and members of our judiciary who also understand the importance of fighting for the protection of individual property rights.”
Ms. Autry is a member of Cranfill Sumner & Hartzog’s Land Condemnation and Eminent Domain Law group and specializes in the representation of private land owners whose property rights are threatened by land condemnation or eminent domain. As an eminent domain lawyer, Ms. Autry has obtained multi-million dollar judgments and settlements as well as non-monetary concessions for residential and commercial property owners that are impacted by an eminent domain taking or land condemnation. Ms. Autry is also a frequent publisher, writer and lecturer in the field of eminent domain and land condemnation law.
