Veolia’s TECTA™ B16 Instrument for E. Coli Detection is Offered Exclusively Through VWR
Kingston, Ontario (PRWEB) May 21, 2015 -- Veolia’s environmental monitoring technology division, Endetec, has entered into an exclusive North American distribution agreement with VWR to distribute TECTA™ B16, an automated microbiology testing system.
With more than 160 years of experience, VWR, a leading global provider of products and services for laboratory and production facilities, has cultivated a value proposition delivering product choice, operational excellence and differentiated services to enable science. Endetec’s TECTA™ B16, combines proven microbiological indicators with state-of-the-art instrumentation to automate E. coli and total coliforms bacteria testing. With integrated networking capabilities, the TECTA™ B16 will provide immediate notification and early warning of positive sample results within 2-18 hours depending on the level of contamination.
In July of 2014, TECTA™ received approval from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) for performing regulatory compliance testing for E. coli and total coliform bacteria in drinking water distribution system samples under the Revised Total Coliform Rule (RTCR) and other related regulations of the Safe Drinking Water Act.
“The TECTA™ system combines proven microbiological indicators with state-of-the-art instrumentation to automate what has traditionally been a manual process of interpreting test results. U.S. EPA approval means that we can offer drinking water system operators a new tool for microbial monitoring of distribution systems - further ‘raising the bar’ on public health protection,” said Dr. R. Stephen Brown, Chief Scientist at Endetec.
Tim Adams, VP of Sales and Marketing, Endetec, said, “We are extremely pleased that VWR is offering the TECTA™ B16 to their customers in North America. Testing for water quality is becoming imperative for virtually all industries. Anyone that uses water, supplies water, or disposes of waste-water needs to have a system that is fast, fully automated, and accurate. The TECTA™ B16 provides all those things, and with VWR’s significant reach, will be readily available to those who need it.”
“The importance of water quality to our customers cannot be overstated,” stated Stephan Labonté, SVP of Marketing for VWR. “We are pleased to offer the TECTA B16 as a rapid, water testing solution for our industrial and government customers.”
