New Social Networking Site Exclusively for Legal Professionals Launches This Week
New York, NY (PRWEB) July 02, 2013 -- Officially launching this week is Esqspot.com, an online social networking platform designed specifically for legal professionals, including attorneys, law graduates and law students, paralegals, legal support staff, and other professionals working closely with the legal industry.
Membership is free and members can sign in using their Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter or email accounts in a touch of a button. Following the initial sign up, the site carefully screens and verifies its members via follow up emails to make sure that only legal professionals are granted permanent membership. Esqspot offers familiar social networking functions such as legal forums, where members can post questions and seek advice from others, job search, blogs, groups focused on practice areas and interests, and sharing of documents, pictures, videos, and events. Members are able to connect and network without any limitations. There are no point systems or fees of any kind to use Esqspot and any of its social functions.
More important than its capabilities of connecting legal professionals virtually online is Esqspot’s main objective to build a real community incorporating online and personal interaction between members.
“There is a big difference between an online “friend” and a real person who you meet and make a personal connection with. The two are not mutually exclusive, but without a personal connection, it is very difficult to gain trust and credibility that is critical for building a professional network. Our focus is on the members and building a real community, not on the website,” said Val Kleyman, Esq. the founder of Esqspot.com and practicing attorney in New York.
Kleyman has been organizing successful live networking events for legal professionals for less than a year with his group, NYC Legal Network, that he started on other social networking sites such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Meetup before he realized the value of networking and that there was a need for legal professionals to have their own exclusive “spot”.
“The most powerful and time tested source of business and clients for attorneys and law firms is a professional referral network of other legal professionals. Yet this source is significantly overlooked with all the focus on connecting attorneys with potential clients. Esqspot’s mission is to connect attorneys to other legal professionals by providing a unique online place to network, share knowledge, and support each other. Best of all, it is open and free to use promoting a real sense of community,” said Kleyman.
Most online websites and services focus on connecting lawyers to clients, which can be very costly and competitive. Esqspot focuses on connecting lawyers to other lawyers and legal professionals for cross referral of business, finding career opportunities, and supporting each other in the everyday practice of law. While Esqspot is not the first to explore the idea of a social network for lawyers, Esqspot is confident that it’s open and free to use platform, which allows legal professionals to interact and share without limitations and go beyond the website to make personal connections, is a winning strategy.
In the near future, Esqspot is considering offering members access to CLE (Continued Legal Education) classes and an online store of products and services commonly used by legal professionals in their law practices.
