Watch Your Language; uTalk App Now Available in 50 Languages
London (PRWEB UK) 14 October 2013 -- And as an added bonus, anyone who already own EuroTalk’s original app, uTalk Classic, in any of those 50 languages is being offered an upgrade to uTalk Essentials, unlocking 300 words and phrases across eleven categories within the new app.
The idea behind the app is simple: for anyone visiting another country, knowing just a handful of words in the local language can make for a much more enjoyable and successful trip. It shows respect for the culture, is appreciated by locals and provides a much-needed confidence boost for the nervous traveller.
uTalk includes these essential key words in 50 languages, including fifteen added this week: Hungarian, Maltese, Czech, Swahili, Icelandic, Afrikaans, Albanian, Slovenian, Scottish Gaelic, Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Macedonian, Belarusian and Galician.
The app uses addictive games to help learners commit the words to memory, and can also be used as a mobile phrasebook, with the Instant Search feature enabling users to find and listen to the word they need, when they need it.
Users wanting to learn more than just the key words like hello, thank you and I don’t understand, can upgrade to uTalk Essentials with 360 words (£6.99) or uTalk Premium with 1,200 words (£10.99).
EuroTalk are offering the Essentials upgrade to customers who already own their original app, uTalk Classic, in any of the 50 languages. “Our original uTalk app has sold hundreds of thousands of copies and the most frequent request we’ve had is for more content,” says Dick Howeson, EuroTalk’s chairman. “The new app was developed based on user feedback so we felt it was only fair to offer the Essentials section for free to our existing customers.”
Additional features within the app include a “World Tour” travel game, in which users visit different countries, collecting passport stamps and souvenirs as they learn, and a culture section for each language, offering vocabulary associated with the country. The latest update also includes the option to listen to music in the background while learning.
“I’ve been regularly testing uTalk on the train home, learning French while listening to my favourite music,” says Dick Howeson. “I’m hooked, and I have a feeling our customers will be too. We hope many of them will soon go for the upgrade to Premium, to learn even more.”
uTalk is available to download free now for iPhone and iPod touch from the App Store. iPad and Android versions are currently under development, and more languages will be added over the coming months.
