Faces Apparel partners with World Vision to provide education to Filipino children
Los Angeles, Calif. (PRWEB) October 06, 2015 -- Faces Apparel is excited to announce the launch of its first-ever collaboration with World Vision in the Philippines for its Empowerment Collection, partnering with the global nonprofit to help provide educational supplies to Filipino children.
The World Vision x Faces Apparel Empowerment Collection tees are a series of limited edition T-shirts designed by international artists to be profiled on http://www.facesapparel.com. Proceeds from sales will be used by World Vision to fund educational initiatives in the 33 provinces the organization serves in the Philippines.
“Faces Apparel is thrilled to partner with World Vision, the global leader in humanitarian initiatives,” said Faces Apparel founder Michael Lew. “We feel privileged and grateful for this incredible opportunity to love and serve the children of the Philippines.”
Every five shirts sold in the United States will provide a single child an entire year’s worth of education. Each shirt sold will provide the tools children need to be successful in their daily education. Included in each educational learner kit are school bags, notebooks, pencils, and raincoats - small items often taken for granted in our own communities, but large burdens for struggling families. But it’s the gift of learning and the special moments a child experiences in school that are the most important part of the Faces Apparel x World Vision mission.
"World Vision is truly honored to partner with Faces Apparel, an international social enterprise brand that shares our own vision and commitment in ensuring that every child lives to the fullest,” said Santos N. Godornes Jr., Director for National Resource Development. “In order to achieve this, we believe that education is a child's most potent tool to get out of poverty. And so we start with helping to educate children so they can get the most out of life."
Faces Apparel is known for its socially responsible production of premium blank tees and modern basics, made in factories that provide fair wages and safe workplaces. Ethical production is taken to the next level through the Micro Factory Initiative. In partnership with community organizations, Faces Apparel uses a unique model to locally employ men and women who would otherwise be forced to leave their homes in search of work. These same micro factories will produce a portion of the T-shirts for the WV Educational Empowerment series. All others will either be sourced from local American and Filipino manufacturers.
The partnership with World Vision Philippines is in line with Faces Apparel’s GLOCAL (global+local) ethos, supporting local communities on the global level, in the hopes of creating a better future- one face at a time. The Faces Apparel team hopes that by supporting the littlest lives today we make the largest impact tomorrow.
