“We’re honored to have an esteemed panel of industry judges at one of the largest payment conferences in the U.S. select AuthenticID’s CatfishAIR as the winner of the APEX Shark Tank,” said AuthenticID’s CEO Blair Cohen.
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) April 11, 2016
AuthenticID, a leading technology company specializing in identity authentication solutions, today announced they won the All Payments Expo (APEX) Shark Tank held in New Orleans in March. The technology company, which specializes in providing identity authentication tools designed specifically for face-to-face and online channels of commerce, beat out 8 other FinTech startups with their CatfishAIR solution for financial services providers and other companies. It is the only identity proofing solution that delivers forensic examination of government issued identity documents from 192 countries around the globe.
“We’re honored to have an esteemed panel of industry judges at one of the largest payment conferences in the U.S. select AuthenticID’s CatfishAIR as the winner of the APEX Shark Tank,” said AuthenticID’s CEO Blair Cohen. “Our next generation Identity Proofing tool CatfishAIR proved to be the most innovative. Normally user experience and fraud prevention processes collide, but with CatfishAIR it is the perfect marriage. Our solution can accurately authenticate customer identity - of anyone from anywhere - in less then 10 seconds using our Automated Forensic Document Authetication technology. We’re 10 times faster than the competitors solution. Plus our Accurate Facial Recognition engine eliminates the need for tedious manual entry of information by comparing the headshot on the ID with a selfie of the customer making the transaction – virtually eliminating account opening identity fraud,” concluded Cohen.
During his pitch to the sharks, which included Sam Maule, Emerging Payments Practice Lead, Carlisle & Gallagher Consulting Group; Michael O’Loughlin, Director of Consulting, CGI; and Larry Berlin, Vice President, First Analysis, AuthenticID’s President and CEO Blair Cohen demonstrated the CatfishAIR service. The three minute presentation demonstrated how CatfishAIR lets financial services providers verify new account creators using a photo or “selfie”. The user takes a photo of his government-issued ID and also a selfie of themselves, AuthenticID’s CatfishAIR then checks for authenticity against its vast library of ID types including IDs from 192 countries around the world. The solution gives the enrolling institution access to the same tools used by the Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Patrol. AuthenticID’s second validation factor is examination of the selfie photo to make sure the faces match – and the physical photo allows 100% identity verification in less than 10 seconds.
“We were thrilled to add a Shark Tank to APEX this year, bringing our delegates some of the most exciting innovators in payments today, and our judges were extremely impressed by the winner, AuthenticID,” said APEX 2016 Editor-in-Chief Katie Gwyn-Williams.
