Author Shares How She Deals With Her Mother's Dementia and Changing Attitude in New Book
WOODY POINT, Australia (PRWEB) June 13, 2017 -- Debbie Flack’s new memoir “Forget Me Not: ‘A daughter’s love challenged by Dementia’” (published by Balboa Press AU) offers an honest account of a daughter who bears the complexities of a career while her mother battles dementia.
“Dementia can be a truly difficult diagnosis but there can be many positives, cherised times to be remembered by families as well as the fact that there are many people who work tirelessly to make the life of the sufferer more enjoyable,” Flack says.
In the book, Flack narrates the family’s journey with her mother’s diagnosis – from discovering the symptoms, realizing the changes occurring and exploring the treatment options. It shares that no matter what type of dementia a person has, the journey for the sufferer and their loved ones can truly be a difficult one. Discovering how strong love can be, Flack describes the emotional toll of dementia.
Flack says, “I hope by combining our story with some knowledge and links for further research this will provide carers, families and health workers with a better understanding of dementia and its affect on relationships.”
