Burlington, MA (PRWEB) May 05, 2014 -- Formedix (http://www.formedix.com), is the only software provider in the clinical trial space to offer vendor neutral integrations with multiple systems. Known for its partnerships with the leading Electronic Data Capture (EDC) vendors, the company has now released a new tool which makes conversions easier, Transform for Dataset Conversion.
Formedix Transforms currently fall under one of two categories: Transform for EDC (integrations with the leading Electronic Data Capture Tools, including DataLabs, Medidata Rave, OmniComm TrialMaster and OpenClinica) and Transform for Publication (a set of tools used for supporting paper studies and producing CDISC Define). This new release launches a new set of products called Transform for Conversion.
The latest solution to come from the industry innovators is all about making conversions simpler. Transform for Dataset Conversion offers the ability to map from any dataset to any dataset and store those mappings for reuse over and over again. It could be EDC to CDISC SDTM; SDTM to ADaM; or a mapping for a proprietary dataset (legacy or warehouse).
Consultancy Manager at Formedix, Darren Bill comments, "Much of the effort in mappings is the creation of specs and getting those right. This addition to the Transform portfolio, recognizes that producing human readable specs that describe mappings in an easy and straightforward manner upfront is a high priority." He continues, "It allows the presentation of specs in any format and style that is required (Word, Excel, pdf) and saves time and money as a result. The output is machine readable, non proprietary files based on CDISC which can easily move between systems."
This vendor neutral output interfaces with different languages to execute the transformation. Where other Transform products interface with EDC systems, Transform for Conversion tools interface with any coding language in a data transformation tool e.g. SAS, Informatica, Oracle Life Sciences Hub or homegrown solutions. Formedix customers using its tools have experienced over 70% reduction in end-to-end data transformation times. This can be magnified by being able to reuse both source dataset designs and SDTM target designs and mappings.
Formedix is actively seeking partners for the next generation of its Transform products - whether internal teams which have developed mapping code, or external commercial Extract, Transfer and Load (ETL) / data conversion tools, if interested, contact Formedix.
