Goers Dental Care Thanks Military with Free Exams, X-rays and Cleanings on Freedom Day
Darien, IL (PRWEB) August 17, 2016 -- Goers Dental Care in Darien is providing free dental care for military personnel and their immediate families on Freedom Day, Thursday, September 8, 2016. Freedom Day is a national event for businesses to show appreciation for the sacrifices made by military personnel and their families.
On Freedom Day, the dentists and staff of Goers Dental Care are offering, with no strings attached, a free cleaning, exam, x-ray, fluoride treatment and any needed treatment for veterans and the members of the military and their immediate families. Appointments are required.
"Participation in Freedom Day has personal meaning for me," said practice owner Ron Goers, D.D.S. "My dad served in World War II, and my brother, too, was part of the military. To be able to express our gratitude in this way means a great deal to me and to the entire staff at Goers Dental Care."
Staff members have personal reasons, too. Hygienist Tanya Arnold's husband Jeremiah of Oswego served four years as a specialist in the U.S. Army, with two deployments - Iraq and Afghanistan. Dr. Assistant Suzy Lisowski of Naperville served in the U.S. Army as a Private first class for two years.
Freedom Day began in September 2013 after a realization by the founder Dr. Robert Martino that not enough appreciation is shown to those who sacrifice so much. Businesses across the country are participating.
“Our men and women of our Armed Forces make great personal sacrifices in order to secure and protect our freedoms,” Dr. Martino said. “Their families have endured hardships, and some have given all they have so that we may live in peace and are free to pursue our dreams."
