Portland, Oregon (PRWEB) April 30, 2014
Global Technology Transfer Group, Inc. (GTT Group), the world leader in patent transaction advisory services, announces the Q4 2014 Patent Market Index and April 2014 Patent Transaction Market Repor t. The Patent Market Index (PMI™) tracks patent transaction activity and patent marketplace trends, and is reported quarterly in the Patent Transaction Market Report (PTMR).
The Q4 2013 PMI™ moved to 81.4, remaining under 90. The 7.6 point decline continues the 2013 trend of increased acquisition selectivity.
“We believe the Q4 PMI™ represents the typical recording lag in patent transaction activity as many market participants were deeply involved in completing transactions prior to year end,” explains Michael Lubitz, CEO and Chairman of GTT Group. “Patent Asset Transfers during the quarter are consistent with the new market equilibrium reflected in the PMI’s range since Q2 2012. We should expect to experience a gain in transfers and the PMI™ for Q1 2014.”
Samsung led the list of Most Active Deal Makers for the second quarter in a row. Active deal makers also included Google Inc., Intellectual Discovery Co., Ltd., and RPX Corporation.
