Author Spins Tale of Modern Spaceman Lost on Backward Planet Searching for Wizard, Finding Witch
ELKVIEW, W.V. (PRWEB) August 22, 2017 -- Jarl Hawkins, an ex-geographer from Earth and ex-partisan from the planet Jubal, is now marooned on the planet Vanir – a backward world with sorcerers, black-powder weapons, nomad raiders and a church seeking to become all powerful in author George R. Dasher’s new novel, “Scarecrow: Book Three of the Vanir Trilogy” (published by iUniverse). The book is the final part of the Vanir Trilogy.
On top of all his other problems, Jarl loses track of his friend, the great wizard Kvasir Haroldson. In his search, he discovers a witch, Kiska Ericson, who is one of the feared nomads and a Sulfur Hills People banished to the mountains for practicing her craft. Jarl befriends her, and together they search the Province of Cimarron, the Sabre Mountains, the secret Ghost Raider city of Jorvik, and the magical city of Vor for some word of Kvasir.
“It is the story of a modern spaceman attempting to survive on a backward planet and find the one wizard who can return him to his world—and who makes many friends and enemies and discovers many lost secrets of the planet,” Dasher says, adding that he hopes his readers take away “a good tale, some surprises, and a strong hero and heroine worth sympathizing with and admiring.”
