Self-Help Book Shares Journey Of Healing, Being Caregiver To Others
HUDSON, Wis. (PRWEB) February 21, 2017 -- Nancy Johnston Toll marks her debut in the publishing scene with a new guidebook offering readers a way to “Getting Over the Bump in the Road” (published by Xlibris). Inspired from her personal experiences, this compendium abounds with helpful tips and lessons learned on how to cope with the ups and downs experienced by anyone going through cancer treatment and how one can be a caregiver to others through their own healing journey.
Written for anyone experiencing cancer or helping to care of someone in need, this book describes the experiences of a breast cancer survivor, her outlook on the disease and how she grew to understand the importance of helping others. Readers will find a refreshing take on how to cope with the ups and downs experienced by anyone needing long-term care and some concrete ways one can help those going through chemotherapy and radiation. Sometimes poignant, sometimes humorous, this book will help readers get through those bumps in the road.
“During my journey with cancer I read a lot of books that had factual information on breast cancer or those that were meant to be inspirational. I didn’t find any though that told me in plain English some of the physical and emotional things I would go through and I think readers will appreciate the frank account of my experiences and will thus be better prepared to face the effects of cancer treatment themselves,” Toll shares. “I want others to know how important it is to help others, regardless of what they are facing, and that having cancer doesn’t mean that you can’t get over the bumps in the journey.”
A snippet from the book reads:
I’ll never forget the morning I got out of the shower to go to work and ended up with a handful of hair in my hand. Yes, it does come out by the handfuls.
