Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) January 14, 2014
GiftCards.com™, the highest-ranking and most-trafficked gift card website, today announced the appointment of Todd Anderson as General Counsel.
As an attorney and strategist, Anderson has been involved in most of the major regulatory, legislative, and litigation matters regarding electronic payments during the past decade, such as the Durbin Amendment rulemaking, development of mobile payments, and interchange legislation and class action litigation. He also has represented clients on these issues before regulators at the Federal Reserve, Federal Trade Commission, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and other agencies. In addition to Anderson’s broad legal background, he has extensive business management experience, including serving as COO of a multi-billion dollar wireless carrier, working as a management consultant at the Boston Consulting Group, and helping the nation’s leading merchants launch Merchant Customer Exchange (“MCX”), a mobile payments and offers company.
“As GiftCards.com continues to innovate and vigorously compete in the gift card industry, I wanted to bring in someone with expertise in payments, the financial sector, and at the cutting edge of merchant exchange,” said Jason Wolfe, CEO of GiftCards.com. “We’ll be looking to Todd for strategic input and business development, plus leaning heavily on his experience dealing with antitrust and other legal issues.”
Anderson holds a law degree, cum laude, from Harvard Law School, a master’s degree in public policy from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, and a bachelor’s degree in economics, summa cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania.
