EC-Council Foundation's Global Cyberlympics Finals Will be Held During Cyber Security Week in The Hague
Albuquerque, NM (PRWEB) May 05, 2017 -- EC-Council Foundation’s Global CyberLympics 2017 finals will be held at The Hague in the Netherlands during Cyber Security Week (CSW) and the Europol – INTERPOL Cybercrime Conference. The finals will be co-hosted with Deloitte Netherlands, The Hague Security Delta, and the Municipality of The Hague. Global CyberLympics will be one of the many exciting events that will be happening all around the city!
Global CyberLympics is an online ethical hacking, computer network defense game, dedicated to finding the top computer network defense teams. Teams are made up of 4 to 6 players, and each round serves as an elimination round until only winning teams remain. The top two teams from each continent are invited to play the game live in person at the world finals. Global CyberLympics’ goal is to raise awareness toward increased education and ethics in information security through a series of cyber competitions that encompass forensics, ethical hacking, and defense. One key initiative for Global CyberLympics is to foster an environment that creates child online protection through education. The mission statement of the Global CyberLympics is “Unifying Global Cyber Defense through the Games.”
During CSW, The Hague becomes the center for the cyber security community. Dozens of events will provide the opportunity for attendees to network, discuss cyber security trends, share knowledge, and to pitch innovative ideas for funding as each day of CSW focuses on a different aspect of information security. Monday, September 25 will address “Access to Talent” with the goal of spark the interest of children in the field of cyber security. The next day will focus on “Access to Capital” where a startup accelerator program will be organized as well as a special startup event by Startupfest. The third day is about “Access to Market” where an international matchmaking event will be organized by European Enterprise Network. Thursday be centered around “Access to Knowledge” and several lectures and events will be organized, including an HSD Café and Hague Talks. The CSW is powered by The Hague Security Delta, the leading security cluster in Europe.
Teams interested in participating in the Games must register here by July 31st when registration closes. The regional elimination games, which will determine the teams that advance to the finals in The Netherlands. Teams must have a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 6 players. A team capital must be selected. The elimination round of competition begins on August 12th, 2017 at midnight UTC and will end at noon UTC. Teams will partake in challenge categories such as digital forensics, network exploitation, web applications, and service exploitation. The finals will include all new challenges for the teams to complete. The finals last year saw teams completing challenges from Da Vinci Code Cryptex, RFID, safe and lock picking, cell phone hacking, and many others. The Global CyberLympics is far beyond the average capture the flag type completion with creative challenges that stretch even the most skilled players. The awards ceremony honoring the overall world champion as well as the second and third place teams will be held in the Atrium of the City Hall at The Hague – an incredible venue to honor the world’s best ethical hackers.
