Global Vacation Ventures Shares 3 Ways to Travel Green this Fall
West Palm Beach, Florida (PRWEB) August 25, 2014 -- Being environmentally conscious is something that many people take pride in. When they go on vacation, however, they are often at a loss as to how they can travel while still staying environmentally friendly. In an effort to assist these vacationers, Global Vacation Ventures, a concierge country club travel agency, is sharing four ways that vacationers can have less of an environmental impact on their next vacation.
1. Use Less Water
After a long day of touring the countryside, playing at the beach, or a whole host of other activities, it is easy to want to take a long, hot shower. It is always important to remember, though, that in many places, water is a very precious and scarce resource. Some of the best ways to use less water are taking shorter showers, avoid using the bathtub, turning off the faucet while shaving and brushing one’s teeth, washing one’s clothes in the sink and bringing water bottles.
2. Make Sure No Excess Energy is Being Used at Home
Before even heading out for a sustainable vacation, it is important to start conserving energy and resources at home, shares Global Vacation Ventures. When leaving for a vacation, make sure to double-check that all appliances (such as toasters, coffee makers, blenders) and other electrical items that plug into the wall (such as lamps, computers, gaming consoles and more) have been unplugged. Simply leaving these devices plugged into the wall can be a big drain on electricity when a person is not even in their home.
3. Fly Less and Travel More
People flying to different places around the world burns an astronomical amount of gasoline every day, and all of these fumes are then released into the environment. One thing that the individual flyer can do in order to reduce these harmful effects is to travel more and fly less. Instead of taking several shorter trips, Global Vacation Ventures recommends taking one long trip where the vacationer travels to several different destinations by other modes of transportation including trains.
By following these tips, travelers will not only enjoy their vacations, but they will enjoy the fact that they are treading lightly upon the places that they are visiting, helping to preserve their natural beauty and ambiance.
