Toronto, Ontario (PRWEB) September 30, 2013
The Gluten-Free Certification Program (GFCP) in partnership with the Canadian Celiac Association are proud to announce that Smucker Foods of Canada has joined the growing number of companies certified by the GFCP, with the introduction of their new Robin Hood® Nutri Flour Blend™ Gluten Free, an all-purpose gluten-free flour blend. It is now available at grocery stores across Canada in a convenient, easy, resealable bag using the Grip-Lock™ system.
Robin Hood has been in business for over 100 years and has continually provided innovative flour offerings to consumers. A lot has changed, but our philosophy has remained the same: "We're sensitive to changing needs and lifestyles so that we can help consumers bake better," says Adam Zitney, Director of Marketing on Baking at Smucker Foods of Canada Corp. The new Robin Hood Nutri Flour Blend Gluten Free is an all-purpose gluten-free flour blend with a source of fibre, which helps consumers make great tasting gluten-free baked goods with added goodness.
By displaying the GFCP trademark, the Robin Hood brand provides consumers with a trusted and easily identifiable safe gluten-free product. This gluten-free flour is made with a blend of rice flour, sugar beet fibre, potato and tapioca starches. Gluten-free consumers can now easily create their favourite recipes, from scrumptious brownies to delicious chocolate chip cookies and everything in between. Gluten-free recipes can be found at http://www.robinhood.ca to help inspire great gluten-free baking!
The Gluten-Free Certification Program (GFCP) was developed so consumers can shop with confidence by selecting those safe, reliable and gluten-free products displaying the GFCP trademark and is endorsed by the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness and the Canadian Celiac Association.
The GFCP is a voluntary program designed for manufacturers and brand owners committed to producing safe, reliable gluten-free products. The program combines stringent, risk-based gluten-free requirements with globally recognized food safety management systems which exceed government requirements in both Canada and the United States. It is verified by an annual robust, third-party facility audit process which ensures continued compliance.
About the Gluten-Free Certification Program
The GFCP helps brand owners to differentiate their gluten-free products from the increasing clutter of gluten-free claims, by displaying the GFCP trademark. It is based on a robust third-party audit certification process at the manufacturing facility, which verifies their ability to regularly meet the stringent GFCP requirements, when managing gluten as part of their food safety programs.
