Kincardine and Goderich Gym Owner Nadine VandenHeuvel Wins the 2014 “Inspiring Woman in Huron County” Award
Goderich, CAN (PRWEB) April 08, 2014 -- At the 2nd annual Inspiring Women in Huron Awards, hosted on March 3rd by the Huron Women’s Shelter in Goderich and the YMCA (with support from Maple Leaf Chapter IODE and BMO Bank of Montreal), local fitness expert Nadine VandenHeuvel was awarded this year’s “Inspiring Woman in Huron County” award for her contribution to improving the lives of those in the community.
The award was created to recognize women who have demonstrated a solid contribution to improving the lives of women and children as well as the community as a whole in the following areas: arts and culture, education, business/professional leadership, global action, health and welfare, philanthropy, sport, volunteerism, and women’s rights.
VandenHeuvel, who owns the popular Kincardine and Goderich gym s known as Fit Body Boot Camp, says she is beyond grateful to have been a part of the event.
“I was one of 10 women that was nominated. I do not feel that I any do any more than the other women who were nominated. We all participate in very different areas of helping improve the lives of women, which is amazing to me to see such a community of strong women,” She explains. “I’m really grateful to be recognized in the community for doing my part in helping women change their lives. Being nominated for 2014’s Inspiring Woman in Huron County award helps to remind me of why I do what I do and inspires me to keep pushing to help change even more lives.”
For the past several years, VandenHeuvel has been working with a number of women helping them to achieve their health and fitness goals and has made it her personal mission to inspire Huron County to be more active not only through fitness, but through charitable works as well. She has demonstrated her commitment as a role model and advocate who motivates and inspires the community to make a difference by utilizing her talents, vision, and determination.
“I would like to thank Kristy Lyon from the Huron Hurricanes Aquatic Club for the nomination and to the Maple Leaf Chapter IODE for the Bursary in which we will invest into our program to help positively affect more lives in Huron County,” expresses VandenHeuvel.
