Author Ray Bumgardner Explores the Deeper Meaning of the New Testament
ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (PRWEB) June 06, 2014 -- There is a period of approximately four hundred years of Jewish history which is not recorded in the Bible except in the Catholic versions. Many world events which occurred during that period of time had a great impact on the Jewish people and the nation of Israel. Knowledge of those events would lead to a greater understanding of the New Testament. Also, knowledge of the political climate of the time in which Jesus lived on the earth would further enhance readers' understanding of some things recorded in the Gospels.
“Gospels One” by Ray Bumgardner reveals information which has been assembled from various sources, including the views of many biblical scholars. This work began as a series of lessons for a Bible study class to provide greater understanding of the New Testament. At that time, no thought was given to the possibility that a book would be the final result of the study. In researching material for the individual lessons, therefore, no records were made of the sources of the material being gathered. After completing the study, there was such a large amount of material that had been used for the study that Bumgardner decided at the last moment to consolidate it into a book.
This study, of course, has been only about the life of Jesus on earth. In it, readers will learn what the Holy Spirit gave the writers to pass on to them so that they could know how to become a Christian, how to live as a Christian, and how to make Christians of others.
