We recognized a need for local training for Alaska Native Corporations engaging in government contracting and are pleased to team with a leading provider of high-quality courses and materials for government contract professionals

Capital Edge Consulting and Federal Publications Seminars® (FPS) are pleased to announce a 2-day training event, “Government Contracting: The Changing Landscape of Compliance,” for individuals and organizations doing business with the federal government. The course, designed to help government contracting professionals stay abreast of and gain valuable insights into recent legislative, regulatory and DCAA audit guidance actions, will be held during September 22-23 at the Sheraton Anchorage Hotel. The course is open to the public and will qualify for CLE, CLP and CPE credits.

Whether you are an Alaska Native Corporation or a government contractor doing business in Alaska, you will find this seminar to be valuable and informative. The course is intended for professionals in the areas of accounting, compliance, contract management, finance, internal audit and in-house counsel. The event will be led by Chad Braley and Craig Stetson from Capital Edge Consulting, recognized experts in the government contracting industry. They leverage years of experience to break down complex rules and regulations into information you can understand and apply to your contracting initiatives.

“We recognized a need for local training for Alaska Native Corporations engaging in government contracting and are pleased to team with a leading provider of high-quality courses and materials for government contract professionals, said Chad Braley. This partnership will assure we bring expert-driven training with CPE credits locally to support our ANC contracting community.”

The course will begin with a half-day overview and update of current “hot topics” related to contracting with the federal government and interacting with the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA). Day two focuses on the compliance aspects of contractor business systems (accounting, estimating and purchasing) in today’s government contract compliance environment, and concludes with two panel discussions focused on an analysis of what contractors are seeing in the market today and issues they are facing with government contract administration, compliance and interaction with DCAA and DCMA personnel.

Upon completion of this course, attendees should be aware of current legislative and regulatory updates related to government contracting and know how to:

  •     Assess business systems’ compliance against DFARS criteria and other government requirements
  •     Document business system process and internal controls
  •     Remediate or correct deficiencies
