For a second year, DFW home builder, Grand Homes, is proud to sponsor The North Texas Motorcycle Challenge (NTXMC), a precision skills competition being held on October 1st – 3rd, 2015 at the Village at Fairview, 329 Town Place, Fairview, Texas.

NTXMC features various motorcycle challenges that test a rider’s skill and ability. Trophies will be awarded to the best riders. The competition is open to all Motor Officers and Civilians on motorcycles that are at least 1000cc.

Hosted by Skilled Motorcycle Riders Association, skills training will be provided to participants as a public service to promote motorcycle safety and the benefits of motorcycle training. An avid motorcycle rider himself, Stephen Brooks, CEO of Grand Homes, sees the value of training and practice. “With training and practice, civilian riders are capable of reaching the same skill and proficiency as motor law enforcement officers. The skills training offered is an effort to produce safer motorcycle riders”, says Mr. Brooks.

October 1 will be a practice day with the competition taking place on October 2 and 3. The registration fee is $60 per competitor. The proceeds will benefit The Ultimate Healing Kit which is changing the way both men and women heal after breast cancer surgery. “Being part of this precision skills event is very exciting, but being able to be part of providing these vital kits to patients recovering from breast cancer is a blessing”, continues Mr. Brooks.

The inaugural event last year had 68 law enforcement and civilian competitors from all over the country and was able to donate $3500 to The Ultimate Healing Kit Organization which benefited patients of the Methodist Richardson Cancer Center. The event this year could top 100 competitors locally and from Michigan, Illinois, New York, New Jersey, Florida, Alabama and Louisiana.
