'Self-help books dominate the marketplace,' Manning says, 'but the best self-help book ever written is the Bible.'

Tennis professional and realtor Gregg Manning shares the story of his battle with acute leukemia – a diagnosis that came with the proclamation that he had two to six weeks to live – in his new book, “Manning Up” (published by WestBow Press).

In just 120 pages, “Manning Up” is a quick read and doesn’t get into the gore of the medical experience. Instead, it focuses on surviving and thriving. In this heartwarming story, Manning shares his “success equation” and the faith that carried him through.

“The book will inspire and motivate kindred spirits to fight on,” Manning says.

He explains how, for him, “manning up” means to look up to his heavenly Father for strength and refuge from the storm. In his book, Manning explains how the grace of God knows no bounds and his belief that with God all things are possible – including victory over a death sentence.

"Self-help books dominate the marketplace,” Manning says, “but the best self-help book ever written is the Bible.”

Manning has committed to donating all proceeds from the sale of this book to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) for further research and development of cures for a disease that, according to LLS, afflicts nearly 50,000 new patients every year. He emphasizes that one dollar may become the ultimate dollar that saves someone’s life.
