Halcyon Wealth Management Celebrates 2nd Anniversary
Peachtree City, Georgia (PRWEB) April 27, 2014 -- Halcyon Wealth Management, a fee-only financial planning firm was established in March 2012 and serves clients throughout the Atlanta metro area. The owner and solo practitioner, Carol Berger, feels there are two reasons for the steady growth. “Clients want someone they can trust to give them objective advice with no conflicts of interest,” says Berger. “Total transparency is a must these days.”
The firm has also seen growth in the number of clients from non-traditional households. Berger, who holds the Accredited Domestic Partnership Advisor℠ designation, specializes in helping these couples with their unique planning needs. “Since Section 3 of DOMA was struck down, things have been changing quickly around the country,” Berger says. “The legal landscape is still complicated for these clients and it’s nice to have someone that knows how changes may affect their financial lives.”
Halcyon Wealth Management provides comprehensive financial planning services. The firm also offers an investment management service if a client does not need other planning. Berger can work with someone on a project-type, hourly basis as well. “I had a guy that wanted to know if he’d still have enough money in retirement if he built a cabin in the mountains and paid cash,” she explains. “So I did the analysis and, based on the information he provided, determined that the probability was not good.”
Berger, who is a Certified Financial Planner™ professional, was with another fee-only firm for almost six years. But she is now enjoying the flexibility of being on her own. Since she is a solo practitioner with a growing business, she takes care of everything – from buying office supplies to bookkeeping to client related tasks. “I enjoy being involved with everything that relates to my clients,” she says. “That way I am always aware of what’s going on in their financial lives.”
