SmartWatt Opens in Michigan and Mississippi
In response to strong growth in commercial, industrial and institutional projects throughout the Midwest and Southeast, SmartWatt has added to its existing presence in those regions with the recent opening of its Grand Rapids, MI, and Starkville, MS, offices. The Grand Rapids office will focus on projects within the food processing, cold storage, higher education and general commercial and industrial market segments, while the Starkville office will be dedicated to the execution of a multiyear higher education project already in process. The new offices are expected to result in approximately 20 new jobs.
New Hire Adds to Job Growth
Lou Preston was recently hired as general manager of SmartWatt’s new Grand Rapids, MI, office in the Commercial, Industrial and Institutional Division. He has 15 years’ experience in the energy-efficient lighting industry, most recently as Northeastern Regional Sales Manager and National Marketing Director for lighting manufacturer Precision-Paragon. Preston earned his master’s in business administration from Wayne State University, where he was a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society. He earned his bachelor’s degree in integrated supply management from Western Michigan University.
