HomeValue.us.org is set to launch a special section on their site dedicated to providing up-to-date information about how real estate scam artists work, the company said yesterday.
“Every day we hear about more and more scam artists heading into the housing market,” a HomeValue.us.org spokesman said. “This is because housing prices are rising, and scam artists are realizing there are more potential scam victims than ever before. We want to stop them in their tracks, and building a special section in our site that people can refer to before they make an offer seems the best way for us to do so.”
The section will contain information from law enforcement and real estate experts, he said. It will be available to consumers once they have become a HomeValue.us.org member.
“Some of this information will be released on our social media channels and blog,” he said. “But we want to be able to offer our members something extra. And, having the convenience of being able to go to one section of the site and get all the anti-scam information you could need seems like something we should do.”
HomeValue.us.org believes that most scam artists can be avoided if consumers have the right information available to them to spot the red flags that pop up when a scam is in process, he said.
“The more they know, the less likely it is that they will become a scam victim,” he said. “That's why we think this special section will be a great benefit for our customers.”
